If you are interested in working with a number of middle aged adults sharing a house in the Southern Highlands of NSW at Kangaloon and feel that you are friendly, relaxed, chatty, happy, respectful, honest, likes a joke and enjoys such activities as fishing, cooking, shopping, going out for a coffee or a meal, playing board games, swimming, art, craft, puzzles and music, then we strongly recommend that you apply for this position.

To be successful in this position you must be able to demonstrate the following:

Essential:-
  •  A strong interest to support people with a disability to have a “good life”.
  • Willingness to work an unspecified and flexible range of shifts both planned and at short notice, including week days, weekends, public holidays and sleepovers.
  • Experience working with people who have a range of support needs.
  • An interest in supporting people to participate in activities of their choice and provide opportunities to try new activities.
  • A capacity to meet the physical requirements of the job, including assistance with personal care, domestic duties, driving and use of aides and equipment.
  • Ability to complete general service administration tasks.
  • An understanding and commitment to the Disability Services Standards.
 Desirable:-
  • Understanding of person centred practices
  • Experience and/or knowledge of working with people with mental health issues
