Helping teens with disabilities to be more independent or find a place to call home
Our living and accommodation services for teenagers
Our accommodation services can help teenagers with disabilities take the next step towards adulthood – whether that means moving out of home, or learning skills to live more independently.
Independent living services
Moving from the family home is a big change for a teenager – but with our independent living services, we can make sure your child is prepared for their new lifestyle.
We’ll work with you and your family to develop an independent living program based on their needs and goals, covering areas including:
- Communicating and listening to others
- Personal presentation
- Managing money, budgeting
- Personal health and well-being
- Cleaning and laundry
- Adjusting to change
- Building confidence
- Making decisions
If your child has recently moved out of home (or would like to in the near future), we can provide drop-in support tailored to their individual needs.
Drop-in support is where a support worker comes to your home to help you with daily household tasks
These household tasks can include areas such as cooking, cleaning, personal care, and shopping. Our staff can also help your child learn and develop their own life skills, so they can become more independent as time goes on.
Support to leave care
We can support young people with a disability who are under statutory care make the move to a more independent living arrangement.
Our services help equip individuals with the life skills they’ll need in future, build social networks, and arrange accommodation support that’s tailored to their individual needs.
Along the way, we’ll also provide carers with information and support – after all, it’s a big transition for you too!
