Thank you to all those people who chose to fundraise for House with No Steps. Mimosa Public School in Frenchs Forest raised $430 at their recent fete by asking for gold coin donations in our money collection containers placed throughout the stalls. What a simple yet effective fundraising idea! Thank you! Another community fundraising hero is Teresa Boyce who ran her first ever marathon in Melbourne on Sunday 9 October and chose to support HWNS by setting up an Everyday Hero fundraising page to raise funds. In the lead up to her run Teresa said “I can’t believe the support I have received. I am so much more motivated in my training and to get across the finish line now!” Teresa managed to raise $860! Sobertember was the idea of a volunteer in our Southern region to raise funds to buy a new wheelchair for one of our clients, his mate Jade. Each week Chris and Jade catch up to have a beer and a chat, so the proposal was that the money they would normally spend on beer for the month of September they would put towards the new chair and get their friends and family to do the same. An amazing $4675 was raised allowing Jade to buy a fantastic new wheelchair. Thanks so much Chris and to all his supporters! Please call Elise Cooper, our Community Fundraising and Workplace Giving Co-ordinator, on 02 9451 1511 if you have any questions or ideas about fundraising opportunities. You are only limited by your imagination!
