House With No Steps would like to congratulate and express our sincere gratitude to Rui’s Place volunteer, Elizabeth Brusic, for her achievement of Volunteer of the Year, People and Community, in the i98fm/AHM Local Hero of The Year Awards.

Elizabeth’s recognition is a result of her outstanding work and dedication of time to Rui’s Place, a Family Governance Program in NSW’s Illawarra region. Elizabeth offers 3-5 days a week to organise events, use her skills as a qualified chef to host cooking sessions, organise craft work, assist with day-to-day activities and go above and beyond to fulfill any requirements. Such assistance has been invaluable to Rui’s Place, helping the young people with which she works develop skills, make personal connections and reach their goals.

Elizabeth’s achievement was announced and celebrated in Wollongong by former Australian Cricket captain and AHM ambassador Steve Waugh. Once again, congratulations to Elizabeth on her achievement and thank you from all at House With No Steps.
