Support for families and carers |
|
Families and carers usually play the leading role in providing care and support to people with a disability. Our respite services provide people with a disability the opportunity to spend time away from home with 24 hour professional care, whilst providing the primary care giver a much needed break.

Flexible range of options |
|
We aim for the respite services to be as flexible as possible to meet the needs of the carers. Typical support services we can provide include:
Support in your own home
Our specialised staff come to your home to allow a break from the full time caring role. This can be a day, evening, weekend and/or overnight service in your home.
Support for recreation and accessing the community
We arrange for recreation breaks in the community including planned events for half/full days and evenings e.g. attending sporting events, movie, restaurant, live bands or concerts. This is a pre- planned option which provides the carer/family with a break.
Centre-based accommodation and activity options
We can provide alternate accommodation for a day, overnight or extended stays on either a planned or emergency basis. Our services are provided in dedicated residential-type settings to accommodate a range of individual support needs.
Short breaks and holiday camps
These provide the person with a disability an enjoyable short break or holiday whilst also providing the carer with a break. Activities can include camping, cabin and holiday style breaks for weekends or a few days
