I'm Pam and I chose to work for House with No Steps as I wanted to do something that would give me a purpose.
My name is Pam, I am a keen cook, and I have been working for House with No Steps for the past 7 years. My husband and I ran a business for 30 years and when he retired I wanted to do something that would give me a purpose in life and as I have a niece who has a disability and I have seen her grow into a very talented young woman.
I thought I could empower people with a disability to achieve what they would like to do or give it a good try. Working in disability is such a rewarding career option, filled with lots of exciting challenges and opportunities.
As a mature person, House with No Steps doesn’t rely wholly on my computer skills as I am very limited in this area but I have such wonderful support from my co-workers if I need assistance.
What I like about this job also is the flexibility of the hours and the manager is very accommodating with this. I also did my Diploma of Disabilities last year and it felt so rewarding to accomplish this.
Be one of the many passionate, caring and dedicated workers who would give people with disabilities the power to live the lives they choose.
