HWNS welcomes 600 new customers and 1000 staff

House with No Steps welcomes 600 new customers and 1,000 staff with transfer of services from the NSW Government.

Leading disability service provider House with No Steps has welcomed around 600 new customers and 1,000 staff, with the transfer of accommodation and respite services from the NSW Government’s Department of Family and Community Services (FACS).

Services in six areas of New South Wales were transferred to House with No Steps on October 5, including:

  • Seven group homes and a number of in-home support customers in Northern NSW
  • 12 group homes, one respite service, and a number of in-home support customers in New England
  • Two group homes in Forster
  • 22 group homes and two respite services in Sydney
  • 26 group homes and three respite services in Illawarra and Shoalhaven
  • 12 group homes in Southern NSW

House with No Steps has a strong history of providing quality disability services, with well-established community connections in these regions and extensive experience operating under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

“With this transfer, House with No Steps is now privileged to support over 4,000 people with a disability,” said Andrew Richardson, Managing Director of House with No Steps.

House with No Steps has partnered with Compass Housing Services as the accommodation provider. Compass is Australia’s leading community housing provider and manages more than 4,400 properties across NSW and Queensland.

It made sense for us to pursue this fantastic opportunity to help more people in more places,” said Mr Richardson.
