We honoured benefactors who left us a gift in their Will by launching a Partners in Dignity Remembrance and Memorial Sculpture at Summerland House Farm.
To show our deep appreciation of the generosity and commitment of these supporters and friends, we recently launched a Partners in Dignity Magnolia Sculpture within the gardens of our Summerland House Farm at Alstonville.
The Magnolia symbolises dignity and each individual handcrafted magnolia flower will be inscribed with a benefactor’s name, then featured in the garden as a permanent and longstanding tribute to their generosity.
Sitting next to a flower honouring our founder Lionel Watts, we now find the flowers with the names of: Claire Stevenson, Robert Knapp, Leonard Chant, Dorothy Carthew, Pamela McPhillamy and Trygve Halvorsen.
Special guests at the launch of the sculpture included the Honourable Kevin Hogan, MP Federal Member for Page, Lismore Council Mayor Cr Jenny Dowell, Ballina Council Mayor Cr David Wright, Thomas George, MP member for Lismore, Tamara Smith, MP member for Ballina and House with No Steps (now Aruma) Managing Director, Andrew Richardson. Also in attendance were several of our generous local and interstate donors and supporters.
All our benefactors will also be recognised within our “Book of Remembrance”.
