Our Managing Director, Andrew Richardson, shares the highlights from 2014, and wishes everyone a wonderful Christmas season and a fulfilling and rewarding 2015.
2014 has been a “full-on” year, with lots of excitement and challenges. It was great to see the NDIS start to grow and see the positive impact that flexible, person-centred supports can make in people’s lives.
We will continue to work with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and the federal, state and territory governments to improve the NDIS and sort out the frustrating and costly early teething problems. The NDIS is a wonderful social reform. We will keep working hard to make it as good as it possibly can be.
It’s also been great to see growth across Qld, NSW and the ACT in our flexible and self-managed supports and improved sustainability and growth in several of our businesses. There’s always more to do, but the result is better outcomes for more people with a disability… and that’s worth celebrating!
I expect that, like me, you’re looking forward to the festive season and the chance to reflect and spend quality time with family and friends. But not everyone gets a break. My heartfelt thanks and admiration go to the many wonderful employees who will work right through the holiday period in support of our service users and business customers. Thank you everyone!
